A Rocky Summer...
The day is Monday, August 29, 2005 ... Well this is it everyone, what we have all been waiting for. School is finally among us and I wish I never had to say it. We all hate this time of year. We all feel funny at this time of year, kind of like Steve''s stomach ache for 2 weeks. Well I thought I would recap some highlights from the four wonderful months that I want to call my best summer yet.
My fondest memory this summer must have been La Ronde with Angela, Wally, and my sister. It was family time wrapped in a wonderful ribbon. It had its highs and it had its lows but I spent quality time with my sister, which I find very hard now. It was also my first serious escape from anja''s friends, which are great by the way haha. I will always remember that evil monkey I won anja, thanks to anja''s wonderful photo she gave me of him.
This summer has also been a summer of Wu Shu. I have to remember back when Chang first came back from Toronto. It was golden; we would go to wu shu, kick some serious ass in class, and then go back to his house for some great chinese food where his parents would bicker on who cooks the best. Man I want to relive every minute back then. And who can forget going to Toronto with Andrew for the first time. That''s how I met Anja and got to run in with CH and JOJO. Unfortunately, Wu Shu also brings bad memories of a web-site that has not been built but needs to be and a site that is costing more money than its worth.
Summer has been about the sports and nothing but the sports. I have a new lived passion for badmitten and a new love for volleyball. I have succeeded in ways I would never have imagined. I have just started seriously into beach volleyball and have noticed huge improvements in physical ability. I must thank wushu for that. MESSAGE TO ALL ATHLETES: I believe an athlete is someone who can use the skills he/she learns from one sport and transfer it to another. Wushu is that ultimate sport that transfers to everything. Anyway, I played some bball but never picked it up due to a lack of dribbling skill. I also have a new sense of Auto Racing. Unfortunately, Auto Racing cannot be pursued due to lack of money and resources.
Did I mention travelling? Well according to my records, I have only been to Toronto seven times this summer. My fondest memories include Victor''s birthday, Canada''s Wonderland, and my U of T miniTRIP. Everything else was little one-two day trips that involved DKN7 and wushu training. Victor''s birthday was golden because of Dan''s little brown situation lol. Canada''s wonderland was pretty damn fine; another great trip with my favourite girl ;).
This year last year I remember playing Du Wen 4 with Chang and Steve til 5 am a couple days before Chang left for Toronto. That seems like yesterday but was so long ago... I hope this year goes just as fast. I have changed a lot in this year, hopefully for the better. I am glad that I have such great friends that I know will be there over the years. Thanks.
